Many have hung on to this cherished slogan as a way of not overcomplicating recovery for all.

It is rumored to have begun with Dr Bob when addressing Bill W.

We read in How It Works

"Most good ideas are SIMPLE, and this concept was the keystone of the new and triumphant arch through which we passed to freedom."

The book also refers to the tools as a "SIMPLE kit of spiritual tools".
